As of January 1st, 2020, Microsoft will no longer be supporting both Windows 7 and Server 2008. When Microsoft stops supporting a version of Windows, it stops issuing security updates and system fixes for that operating system. This means that it will become increasingly risky to continue to operate that machine as time goes on. No security patches will be released to address new security threats. New versions of software, including anti-virus agents, will no longer be written to function on these older platforms. Backup software may also quit operating correctly.

If you are a RESULTS customer, we’ve got your back. If you contact us today, we can get you on the schedule for an upgrade. Within our clientele, we have over 700 computers to swap out prior to the January deadline. We are currently scheduling upgrades 30-60 days out so please contact us as soon as possible to get on the schedule. Keep in mind that as of January 2020, we will be unable to continue to support your computers and/or servers unless they have been upgraded to Windows 10 or Server 2012 R2.
If you are not a RESULTS customer:
You can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 by following the directions provided on Microsoft’s website. Don’t forget to first check the minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 10 in case you need to buy new hardware.

Act Now:
Adding to the pressure to act soon, there is a significant shortage of both business class PCs and chips from Intel; the largest manufacturer of microprocessors for workstations, laptops and servers. This is due to larger than expected demand (everybody is upgrading!), and to a slow ramp-up of production for the newest generation of chips. This added demand and lowered availability has caused significant back-orders and price increases for new equipment that will only get worse as the deadline approaches.
